This eight-week all-levels clays will revisit and build on the techniques covered in Mary’s earlier hand-building classes. Students will explore soft slab “collages,” slab/pinch constructions, and solid sculptures, combining methods with the possibility for collaborative and experimental works. Class time will balance lecture, demo, and time for hands-on making. Thoughtful group discussions will center on contemporary ceramics and developing your creative practice. Pre-requisites: this class is suitable for students from beginner to advanced; ages 18+ unless pre-arranged with studio staff.
