Join Puppet Pete for this fantastic class to learn to build and operate your very own marionette!

Peter Syrotiak has decades of experience creating and operating marionettes with The National Marionette Theatre and his new venture Monadnock Marionette Theatre based at his home workshop in Jaffrey.

In this class students will begin with a laser cut kit designed by Pete and MAXT staff to speed up your learning. Students will learn how to manually cut flat parts and blocks, assemble the kit then carve and shape to add personality. The class then will move on to creating controls and a stand, stringing the puppet and in the final session a shirt introduction to operating the marionette.

Students are encouraged to spend extra time on their piece and have resources at MAXT to paint, sculpt and add clothing  accessories to the body if they wish.
