This ten-week intermediate class will build on the techniques covered in Mary’s earlier hand-building classes.  Students will combine the coil/pinch method with soft slab construction, learn to build solid sculptures, and create collaborative and experimental works.  Class time will balance lecture, demo, and time for hands-on making.  Thoughtful group discussions will center on contemporary ceramics and developing and sustaining a committed creative practice. Prerequisites: any of Mary’s previous handbuilding classes, or familiarity with the coil/pinch method and instructor permission.
