The Monadnock Art Emerging Artists Program

In partnership with MAXT and The Monadnock Center for History and Culture

MAXT is collaborating with the Monadnock Art Tour and the Monadnock Center for History and Culture on an initiative to support the development of younger artists in our community.  We believe in the importance of the Monadnock Region as a place that continues to be a home to artists, and understand the growing challenges for them to do so.  The Emerging Artists Program was created to provide resources, mentorship and community to our community’s newest artists.

The program:

Up to nine artists will be selected. Artists in the program will be given free six month basic-level memberships to MAXT makerspace, and will participate in monthly get-togethers with other artists and our team of mentors. The goals of these sessions are to:

  • Learn how to present your work

  • Strengthen your artistic voice

  • Build community

  • See your work from new angles

  • Accountability

These meetups will build toward the Emerging Artists Exhibition at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture, held in parallel with the Monadnock Art Tour's Exhibition, which receives thousands of visitors over the month of October. By then, artists will need to have their pieces show ready - ie. in frames, with proper hanging hardware.

Artists will also be provided a space to sell their work at a stop on the Monadnock Art Tour.

Our Mentors:

Our mentors provide a fantastic cross section of perspectives from around the Monadnock Region. It includes working artists, arts educators, and leaders from local arts non-profits.
